April in Switzerland in a foodie’s idea of heaven.
Not only is the weather warming up meaning alfresco dinning is in vogue, the abundance of spring produce, Easter feasts and chocolate become a weekend staple. There are free holidays to enjoy and nowadays, you can also enjoy three days of streetfood at the Basel Streetfood Festival at Messegeläande.
The festival is a great way to discover new restaurants across Basel, caterers and to try new foods.
There is always a diverse range of food on offer too – from Mexican burritos, Australian lamb burgers, Indian curries, Chinese dumplings, cupcakes, ciders, beer, Swiss cheese (of course) and much much more that I can’t even think about because it’s making me hungry and I forgot my wallet today 😦
The streetfood festival really is a great few hours out and a great place to grab a table, invite some friends and eat the night away. Plenty of atmosphere here and many company’s also attend with trial products and offers. Last year I was handed about 6 cans of cider to try – it was a good night.
Child-friendly, but beware, not wallet-friendly.
